Blog #92--Revolution and Religion--

It's in times like these where you know you're alone in the world. Not in times of despair. Not in times of bliss. In times where your soul no longer knows what to do, where to go, how to feel. We live in a society that represses, that fears; we are controlled like animals and treated like nothing more than insects, feeding the mouth of the starving dragons on their golden thrones. And we suffer under their feet, like cultures have suffered under the Roman Empire, cultures suffer under the 'United' States of an America that cannot house their people, cannot give work to those who need enough money to feed their children. In a world of consumerism, we are the ones being consumed, slowly, until we break under the pressure. And yet, we ask ourselves: should we, then, break together? What would happen if we would listen to one another, speak to one another? Aren't we all afraid of revolution? We should be, when our governments have armies to prevent anyone from doing anything drastic. Armies with men, brainwashed to believe that sacrificing your one and only life for the 'betterment' of your country is beautiful. It's disgusting. We live in a beautiful world, but we are caged by a system that drips of black tar and festering wounds, shut under sewn eyelids. It's in these times that it feels like all we can do is weep and wait for the right moment, to put a knife to the black thread and rip a way back to the light.
It's in times like these that we feel revolution is useless. It's in times like these that we wish there was a true Sanctuary we could escape to. Sometimes, we only have ourselves and sometimes we want more. We want to be with someone, and yet, we fear others. Is this, then, the basis to religion? Is religion the need for an external force whilst being in a state of lonesomeness? God is always there for people who want him. This is what God is. I understand now, oddly, being quite agnostic, and yet, not knowing gives room for something more. Aren't we just vessels? What are we? Why do we take advantage of others? Sometimes we need the help of something larger than us, and we can pray for this help to come. Sometimes all you can do is pray.
