Blog #97--The Problems with Buddhism--

Before you can say anything, I'm going to let you know if you don't know already that I'm not here to BASH Buddhism. I've just had an undegraduate course in the subject and I have seen all the facades of this religion/way of life. I am a Religion Honours and I'm very capable of having a valid opinion/basis about Buddhism.

Blog#96--Artistic Frustration--

You'll know that if you're an artist, you love to create art, and that sometimes, other things get into your way. Whether it be too much work or school or just not enough time in the day. I get writing blitzes at 2 in the morning and at 6am I'm like FUUU I have to stop but I don't want to. Later in my life, I will legit stay up until forever to write, until I plop. Now, I'm at school and all so it's harder, although I could do it. When I don't create art in a while, I become really angry. It's disconcerting really. Does anybody else have this? It's like I want to write and create, but I have too much going on and it's really kind of traumatizing. I feel like a puppeteer that has lost the strings to control her puppets. Nonetheless, I'll post a new character up here just because I feel like it.

Blog#95--Knowledge and learning: my truth--

Knowledge and learning: my truth

My truth is that the more I gather in my periods of gathering, the more I am aware of the knowledge around me. I feel that I can pick and choose what I want to learn now that I am 21 and in my senior year at University. I'm going to Graduate school next year and I realize that I'm terrified because although I am ready I don't feel it. I feel like I can no longer as easily express myself due to the duality and complexity of this world. I live and I now see everything. I see the constructions of society, the double meanings of everything. I'm interested more and more in philology and the sociology of language, if that can be a thing. This, all this, frightens me so much that I sometimes just want to escape and I think this is what all 20 year-olds do. I think it's normal to fear what is in front and attempt to live in the present, but we don't understand this. We live in the extreme present, like orgiastic Romans, drinking instead of studying, wasting away instead of being hopeful. Without commenting on the way of education, I just want to leave with my uncertainty of the tomorrow. But again, this is all normal for a person who has been on this ancient earth, amongst a youthful humankind, unable, weak, but everlastingly loving.

Blog #94--Singing: Different voices with examples--

So, there are numerous types of voice levels. I'm going to make it easy for you and just posts songs that have the voice level. You can then adjust yourself and see which one is most comfortable for your range.

Blog#93--Periods of self: Reflections--

I feel like the human being has numerous periods of self, and I see these two right now. I don't know if this has been written before, probably, but it's pretty cool. This is what I've gathered:

Periods of Gathering:
You feel like listening. Around numerous people you are quiet and you take in, without speaking out, and you do not feel like replying. You do not create excuses or thoughts, but you are a sponge, breathing in words, and body languages. You appreciate people's presence, and enjoy 1-on-1 conversations.

Periods of Expression:
You are exploding with creativity and need to express your art, your body, or your words, or many all three. You can no longer absorb, you have a great need to express yourself, and it is beautiful. You are inspired by the world and you love it! Run, paint, sing, write a speech and go go go!

Blog #92--Revolution and Religion--

It's in times like these where you know you're alone in the world. Not in times of despair. Not in times of bliss. In times where your soul no longer knows what to do, where to go, how to feel. We live in a society that represses, that fears; we are controlled like animals and treated like nothing more than insects, feeding the mouth of the starving dragons on their golden thrones. And we suffer under their feet, like cultures have suffered under the Roman Empire, cultures suffer under the 'United' States of an America that cannot house their people, cannot give work to those who need enough money to feed their children. In a world of consumerism, we are the ones being consumed, slowly, until we break under the pressure. And yet, we ask ourselves: should we, then, break together? What would happen if we would listen to one another, speak to one another? Aren't we all afraid of revolution? We should be, when our governments have armies to prevent anyone from doing anything drastic. Armies with men, brainwashed to believe that sacrificing your one and only life for the 'betterment' of your country is beautiful. It's disgusting. We live in a beautiful world, but we are caged by a system that drips of black tar and festering wounds, shut under sewn eyelids. It's in these times that it feels like all we can do is weep and wait for the right moment, to put a knife to the black thread and rip a way back to the light.
It's in times like these that we feel revolution is useless. It's in times like these that we wish there was a true Sanctuary we could escape to. Sometimes, we only have ourselves and sometimes we want more. We want to be with someone, and yet, we fear others. Is this, then, the basis to religion? Is religion the need for an external force whilst being in a state of lonesomeness? God is always there for people who want him. This is what God is. I understand now, oddly, being quite agnostic, and yet, not knowing gives room for something more. Aren't we just vessels? What are we? Why do we take advantage of others? Sometimes we need the help of something larger than us, and we can pray for this help to come. Sometimes all you can do is pray.

Blog #89 --Natural Spirituality--

If there is no God, then there is still an energy that envelops us all. If you can't feel it, that's because you are blocked. There is no evil. There is only ignorance and callousness. One can be mean toward another, that does not make them evil. It makes them mean, cruel or sadistic. Evil, according to Aquinas, is the absence of existance and therefore, unexistance. This is why I believe in my planet and all that is on it.

Blog #88--Resurfacing--

I've been busy and bored. I still love my blog, but I've been demotivated, until I heard a song I wrote on the piano. I kicked my butt, mixed a few tracks and I'm back in my artista mood, writing a book in a week and listening to the Gorillaz. I remembered a few of my books that I wrote when I was in early High School, what Americans would call Junior High, I guess. I wrote this book in FRENCH mind you, called Cavalries et Sonatine and it was WAYYY MORE taboo than 50 Shades of Grey, with hardcore whipping and incest, women crossdressing to make it in the army and a woman who bathed in the blood of young girls to gain immortality. It was about immortality, and connections by blood and by stars. Oh yeah! Watched Howl's Moving Castle and I was like... THEY COPIED ME!!
Anyway, these are some lyrics that I wrote on top of 'Snow Ruins' from RFF. I called it

This is an essay on Posilac that I wrote back in CEGEP. It's well-sourced and without even knowing Monsanto at that point, I had no idea what I really delving into. Feel free to use this source however, I am not a peer-edited scholar (just yet). Be sure to check the links to where I found my sources, and hopefully they are not dead :)

Blog #85 --Society 101: Sexual Stigma and Heterogender Friendships--

Let's start with Heterogender Friendships. This is based on MY life and MY interpretation of social beings, aka humans. However, I grew up not very social and I observed and now, I have no cell phone and I am the only being in MTL who will engage in conversation with a person in the metro. Yep, the nerds of yesterday are the social butterflies of today. But nuff said, let's get it on!

Blog #84--Society 101: Governments, Conspiracy, Religion, Bullshit---

Le gouvernment nous abrutis, c'est vrai, il fait tout pour nous abrutir.
The government is making us stupid, truly, they do everything to make us more stupid.

There is rarely such as a think as a conspiracy theory, unless you're a crazy person out screaming your lungs to passers by at Lionel-Groulx station. No, there are only bright individuals who want others to realize the truth, and then, there are individuals who do not want to hear anything (as such).

What you do not understand, you find stupid, kind of mentality. And it's with that mentality that you are letting  your government fuck you over every single moment of every day. Even myself, I modify my beliefs and my sayings when I am with certain people because they are extremely boring, or... yes, I'm going to say it: religious. There is a SERIOUS problem with religion and it's not the doctrines, it's not the people in it, it's the fact that it's always connected to money, to morals, to abstinence and ignorance. A human being seeks knowledge, and you can't deny that. Knowledge is experience, not theory. And I return then, to this 'theory' aspect of the world.

Blog#83--Being Fat VS Being Called Fat--

There is a higher problem with being 'fat'. It's not only the fact that women ARE fat, or men, but mostly women, that there is a lot of discrimination going on toward women who are NOT fat, but are called 'fat'. There is a difference between being treated wrongly by Patriarchy or by ignorant jerks who believe the norm of a woman's body is a toothpick size or when a woman is fat and has fat rolls. Being obese is a health problem, and is a poor choice of way of life. It should not be 'okay' to choose to be very fat because it is not 'okay' to unplug the cord of a cancerous patient who wants to die. Eating unhealthy and choosing to make your body enormous is slow suicide and if not, is a way to make your health plummet down the trash. But I'm talking obese there, where you can't walk. I'm just putting it out there.

Blog #82 --Because Nom: Vegan Chili--

Vegan Chili

2 cans of tomatoes (pureed)
1 small can of tomato paste
1 can of corn bits
1 1/2 cup of cooked carrot (diced or sliced)
1 can of red kidney beans
1/2 red pepper (chopped)
1/2 green pepper (chopped)
1 small onion (chopped or minced)
1 large clove of garlic
a small hot pepper (minced) *optional, some like it hot
chili powder, pepper, cayenne pepper, basil (you may choose what you want)

In a pot, mix the pureed tomatoes, tomato paste, corn, cooked carrots, and rinced kidney beans. While this cooks, preheat oven at 350'C. Take a frying pan and with a bit of cooking oil and fry up the garlic, then adding onion and peppers last. We want to keep the peppers crunchy. After the onions are nice and glossy, add the mix of veggies to the tomato mix. Add 1 tbps of chili powder ( more or less, you can choose), same amount of basil, maybe 1tsp of cayenne pepper and black pepper to taste. Put in your oven for 40-60 mins, uncovered.
Serve and enjoy!
This recipe does not cost more than 7-10 dollars to make and makes many portions. Delicious with naan, pita, tortilla or regular bread!

Blog #78--Society 101: Facebook Equality Profile Picture Problems--

About this:

There is something wrong with some people who are intolerant of certain situations that may arise between two individuals of not only the same gender, but the same age. There are limitations, for sure, I'm not talking about a child and an adult, but the way people look at others if they have large age-differences, or if one of them is under 18 or 21.

I'm taking 'History of Children's Lit' in the Spring at Bishop's University and I'm completely psyched! It's going to be great! Blog #76--Philosophical Discussion--

This is an Exerpt of the book I want to write, however the urban planner within me got the best of it and it's probably never going to be written now that I'm just spewing out ideas and here is a discussion that ends with: if one could combine good and evil together, what would be the opposite of that result? People have said that combining is impossible and yet, here we are beautiful, powerful: human.

Blog #75--Because Nom: Vegan Pasta Sauce of Deliciousness--

Delicious Healthy Vegan Pasta Sauce

2 cans of tomatoes (whole)
1 can of white kidney beans
1 cup zucchini (chopped)
1 green and red pepper (chopped)
1 cup of spinach
Half or a full onion (depending on your love of onions) chopped
Minced hot pepper (some like it hot) or chili powder
I minced clove of garlic
Turmeric
Basil
Rosemary
Thyme
A bay leaf
A pinch of sugar
In a blender, puree your can of tomatoes. Using the whole tomatoes has a lot less salt than using already pureed tomatoes.
Separate half of your can of kidney beans. We’re not using tomato paste in this sauce since it’s very salty. Instead, using a potato masher, mash the half of the white kidney beans the best you can. We will use these as a thickener.
Preheat your oven to 350ºC
Fry your vegetables in a pan in canola oil or butter (just a dollop) and we’re going to fry them for 4-5 minutes on a high heat, just to make them glow and crunch nicely before putting them in the sauce.
Place your tomatoes, vegetables and garlic as well as your kidney bean puree and whole rest of them in a large pot. Start to cook at med heat. Add some turmeric, from a teaspoon to a tablespoon. Turmeric is very healthy and blends in well with tomato dishes. Add the same amount of basil. Go a bit easier on the rosemary and thyme, for they are really aromatic. Spices are not only delicious, but they really are healthy, and either help your immune system, clear your throat, aid digestions etc.
Add spinach
As soon as your sauce as boiled for 10 minutes, lower your heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Add one to two teaspoons of sugar. Tomatoes are acidic and the sugar balances the acid and makes is easier on your mouth and stomach.
Add bay leaf
Place your pot in your heated oven and forget it for about an hour.
Remove from oven with mitts! Serve now or store in fridge for later!
Enjoy!

Character of the Day:
Lenalie-Echo

Appearances: Clockwork
Bio:  Lenalie is of the Echo line, and she is very similar to her 'brother', Lennox. She comes back from 'school' and is soon to find out what job they have given her. Energetic and very much alive, she hopes to be a town protector. She ends up getting the job and goes out with Bruno-Victor, an amazing piece of technology, who teaches her how to use weapons and skateboards, so they can get around the town, which is infested with creatures of the destroyed Apocalyptical world. In Clockward, there are no more humans and everyone is implanted with the memories of the past, and they are made to create more 'lives' only the ones who are truly living are few, and most of them live by programmes. Lena and Leno are a bit different, and they must learn this and stuff (I really didn't write a lot, but I based my character off this pic).

Blog #74--Society 101: Non-conformism Hate--

Where is the hate coming from?

I sometimes hear people be super hateful about non-conformists, saying that they're crazy, extremists, that they should do what they're supposed to. I mean, look at all the people who voted Stephen Harper. Okay, he was good the first time around, but now, he's a pile of cogs and gears and let's get him out. Conservatives, mostly in America, are obsessed with the norm, with fitting in.  If someone dresses up everyday, like Goths like to do for example, people will stare at them and judge. Listen, conforming to a certain type of people is not freedom.
I'll give an example, because I find that they illustrate points rather well:

Conformist male: Wears jeans and shirt and goes out to buy (a little bit of) food. Is stoic, rather cold with strangers and very friendly with good acquaintences. Talks about job.

Non-conformist male: Wears whatever the hell he wants, goes wherever the it pleases him. Does not bother with social conformism and acts the way he feels toward the people he knows and doesn't.

Already sounds better eh? It gets worse. Read more by clicking the thing, it's too long for like the main page :P

Blog#72--Society 101: Media Brainwashing--

Oh yeah? Oh yeah, AMAZON.CA? So, the first thing starts here. With a brain who knows how to control other brains. All it takes is somone who is used to watching television, who will defend an advertisement instead of hate it, (like I do). What's wrong with this picture you ask? I'll tell you what's wrong and I'll tell you in step form, using Subject Annabel.

Step one: Annabel sees this adverstisement, and realizes the word 'Beauty' next to products.
Step two: Annabel clicks on 'shop now' and is taken to a page that sells all sorts of creams, lip gloss, eyeshadow, the true works.
Step three: Annabel buys a product, and receives it in the mail (hopefully -_-)
Step four: Annabel wears (supposed mascara) product and thinks to herself "This is beauty"
Step five: Annabel has delusions about her beauty and feels that she is only beautiful when wearing what the media calls 'Beauty' products.
Read more by clicking button or the heading, cuz I can't fit all this on the main page, my computer starts overheating  It's a granny, my comp. :p

Blog# 71--Society 101: Bad Parenting--

There is something the world should know about parenting. It's hard. It's not all-natural. It takes a good person to make a good parent. I sound perhaps a bit extremist, however, I saw this picture today and you know what they say: a picture is worth 1000 words.

I am SO sickened by this picture for so many reasons. Being an art gradute of CEGEP, I know what to do with this picture. (Reverse it with a raccoon shooting the little girl as the father attempts to stop him because he's the bad guy. Lol?) Oh dear am I DARK today... when am I not? Lol. First of all, THAT LITTLE GIRL HAS A GUN IN HER HANDS!!! Bad parenting fail #1. One should never teach a child how to use a pistol or any type of leathal weaponry. People who teach their children how to use this give the excuses below:
1. It's recreational
2. They're going to need to defend themselves.
3. I learned it as a child m'self.

And so on. BULLSHIT. Your recreation is as sick as bull-fighting, as gladiatorial combat back in the Roman Empire!! They're going to need to defend themselves from OTHER children who learned how to use guns. You learned it yourself, yeah, I'm not surprised. Why else would you find yourself brilliant in teaching your progeny how to be a serial killer? You think I'm exaggerating? Hunting for pleasure (since they're not going to eat this horribly frightened raccoon) is serial killing, poaching, destructive and lowly. I have NOTHING against fishermen (not industrial ones *even if most of them just need enough moeny to feed their families*) or hunters who enjoy the peace and calm of the forest or water for hours, relax and catch themselves some prey to the EAT. We do have some deer problems in some countries, like here in Quebec, since they invade our roads (and I'm saying that with a stone in my heart because I know that the reason they are a 'problem' is because of our stupid inventions, our ridiculous lifestyles that cause us to NEED roads). I was just told a couple nights ago by my friend Dave that we live in an extension of the Roman Empire. I was skeptical at first, but now I write this and gape. We do! The aquaducts, the water systems, the mass entertainment, the roads... it's almost creepy. We are no longer social beings, but obsessed with class and drunkenness.
The looming shadows in our world are the patriarchs, men (mostly) who control countries and states, provinces and cities in ways that are destructive. They believe it is the right way to go, but these people are slowly destroying the world we live in. Meat farming, animal testing, the razing of forests, the burning of tires, mass food consumption, all the garbage, the birds dying from eating plastic bottle caps on precious and beautiful islands, the fact that thousands of animals are going extinct, DOES IT GIVE YOU A SIGN??? HELLOOO??? THE WORLD IS DYING! And it's because of these patriarchs who threaten us with rape, with nuclear war, with bioweapons and guns.
They pretend to teach us a thing or two about defense, as if they are the good guys, but they are only diverting us from the real monsters. Should we be grateful to these freaks of nature? No. We need to turn around, take the guiding weight off of our shoulders, put out feet down and shout out a new kind of rebellion. We don't want power. We want FREEDOM. REAL FREEDOM. Not 'liberty' and all that encompasses the crap surrounding the American government that think that war is a necessity and yet do not allow two men or women from marrying each other.
We are the raccoons, right now. We are under pressure from what the patriarchs of society have created. Other people, people who have been raised not on purpose by people who do not know any better. And these people are not to blame, for it is the way society functions. They do not want anyone to gain intelligence, to becomes as aware as I claim to be. Perhaps I'm the delusional one, but I dare you to tell me that you don't feel oppressed, that you've never looked into the eyes of a lamb and thought it was cute. Do you want me to show you a video of the killing process of a lamb? How they skin alive animals for their fur? WE ARE COWARDS! People eat meat and yet, they would never bet able to crack the neck of a rabbit, skin it and cook it. Would you do it?
I've said enough for today, but this is not over. It'll never be over until we all stand up against the government, against Christianity's empowerment and brainwashing (no offense if you are Christian and this doesn't concern the faith, but the manipulation that the Vatican has over the world), and from our neighbours raising their children to shoot 'pests'.

No character today. I don't want to relate my characters to this bullshit.

Post #70--Because Nom: Easy Guacamole Spread--

So I love Guac but it's like too much time to make and all. So, I have an alternate (VEGAN) recipe that goes really well with tortillas.

One avocado (or half) depending on the portion
Tomato
Small Onion

Mash your avocado (after having removed it from its shell) If you are new to this. You cut your avocado in two and remove the greenish-yellow deliciousness from its outer shell. The pit is huge eh? It's quite pretty too :3
Okay, dice your tomato. (Don't use canned diced tomatoes -_- lol, some probs would)
Mince onion like really finely
Mix together
Spread on wheat tortillas
Enjoy the delicious!! :)

Blog #69--Society 101: Homosexuality--

Well, I thought this blog was going to be all nice and friendly, green and happy and full of joy, well... sometimes, one has to be rather forward and strong in order to tell the world what bothers them, and it often makes people uncomfortable. Well, let me tell you something. I am about to write my views as an ally of homosexuals and clear up a few things that people often get wrong. I'm going to be my usual diplomatic, undeluded self. :)

First of all, women and men can be gay. Sounds obvious, but I want to emphasize the word 'gay'. Perhaps some women like to associate with the word 'Lesbian' but each time I hear people say: Gay and Lesbian, I'm like -_- I see that you've joined the Department of Redundancy Department. Gay includes Lesbian, you don't have to add it. In that sense, there is a word for strictly women loving other women: Lesbian, but there is no word for strict male homosexuals. It's homosexual, or gay, (which both also include women). Cool eh? So yeah, I know some Lesbians and they agree with me, but I'm sure some Lesbians like it when you call them that. I guess it depends on the person :)

Secondly, let us focus on the whole 'gay marriage is wrong'. I'd like to mention that marriage is simply a construct in the first place. Marriage is created by society to join people together (oh excuse me, men and women if you're talking about America). What does it do? You get money and benefits when married, but what's this whole 'after marriage, things are going to change' bullshit that I hear. Like, 'the first year of marriage can be tough'. Why? I think it relates back to religion, I mean, often it does. If someone keeps their 'viriginity' (which is also a construct of society, see this blog post for a whole conversation about this topic) for their marriage, then for sure things are going to be different after because you'll have this new thing in your life. Also, these people who barely know each other and get married... I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years, and I don't want to think of marriage; it sounds as if we're tying each other together, restricting each other. If you really love someone, you don't need a symbol and a wedding, you only need each other. STILL! For people who DO want to get married, for religious reasons, for the benefits or fun the lol's, it is unfair that a gay couple would be restricted.

In 23 states in America, you can marry your first cousin. In...7 states it is legal to marry someone of the same gender. Wow, that's sad. So America doesn't care about fucking up their genetic diversity, but care about two people of the same gender getting married? I mean, I have nothing against both parties, but America, wake up! Obama should do something!! Sigh... I'm glad I'm Canadian and that at my University there are gay people and there is little to no 'bullying' concerning it.

Anyway, I have to continue working on my end of semester papers and so I have to unfortunately leave this here, but I might do an update or follow-up :)

Character of the Day:
 Reagan O'Connor

Appeareance: Puzzle Days + Nights (if Nights is to exist, eh CR? :P)
Bio: Reagan has always known his attraction to other boys, but never had he expected to have attraction returned to him in the form of hot, greaser Ted Broadway, who has never known of his homosexuality. Reagan and Ted both get bullied after they announce their love to the school, (Ted being popular and hated by the preps *this book is very stereotypical --and for a reason--*) Reagan is Naomi's roommate for the time that she stays on the boys side of the school, and he guards her in the showers and is her best friend. He is kind, and a bit 'dépendent affectif' but just enough. When Ted tells him that he's already been debauched by a certain girl, it makes him jealous, but everything works out. Both Ted and Reagan never become supernaturals, but live a long life together and die old and happy. :) Omg, they're a lovely couple! Yeah, they're in this blog too! :p

Blog #68--Evolution of Characters--

Ok, I found an old memory stick. Yes, from my High School years. Pics of me on there, man I was... weird-looking. -_- But the coolest thing on there was the first creations for some characters that went on to be cooler, more important characters. I had an attack of awesome and I shall share this evolution with you. I has screen caps! :P

I wrote this probs 3 years ago. Miles... has something to do with super-powers, which he does becoming a Vampire. Miles is still gay, but he lost his boyfriend to murder, however, in his first appearance he massacres his boyfriend's killers (hmm... weird) with a baseball bat, which is reminiscent of his actual book Faceless.
Daunting and beautiful, Jonah Farrow was first initiated as a character in Dare-Love-Die, the untold backstory of her first lesbian relationship with Laney; both actually introduced in Faceless as well. Jonah is the SAME character as above; I seemed to have stuck to her pattern, she was born and never did she deviate from who she was. Jonah Farrow goes on to be Romie (Romilda) Chavanon, Matriarch of the Chavanon Bloodline.

Greg and Naomi. This is from The Orphanage 5, something I never wrote, except for this part. Naomi and Greg had a thing and Greg has a motorcycle, same as in Puzzle Days, their own book where they are the main characters.

What's creepy about all this is that Miles, Jonah, Greg and Naomi all end up meeting each other and being friends or frenemies. They all change their names too, to, in order: Maestro, Romie, Irish Boy, and Seven. Irish Boy and Maestro have an intimate relationship too, that's wild!!! It's crazy they came from different parts of my mind and I made them into... beautiful people. They're like real!!! Ah, I'm insane ;)

Character of the Day:
Franz Melia

Appearances: Shambles
Bio: Franz is made by Amelia, one of Robin's 'Sisters' during a war. After being hit by the flying shards of death as a claymore explores near him, he is dragged out of the battlefield and nurtured by her. Amelia is hedonistic and freaky, however, they share a romantic bond that strengthens his potency as a Romanian Vampire. Franz can manipulate different types of fire, and is an important asset to the Myska. His crush, Francesca, is persistent in making him feel like shit and his bond with Amelie, Robin and even Marquise is very strong. Franz is not very sadist, but a relaxed young man who enjoys life at its fullest every single night.

Blog #67--Pesticides and Organic Fruits--

I never had any allergies to fruits or vegetables my whole entire life. Okay, maybe the occasional kiwi was a bit acid on my lips, and peach fuzz and pineapple, but it was always those three. And then, last year, I was suddenly allergic to every single fruit I would buy at my local grocery story. Why? I didn't know at first. I would eat a banana, an apple, anything and my throat would swell, my whole mouth would become red and it would itch really badly. What was it? Well, I never found out. I was wonderging had it been about pesticides, or was it GMO's? Oh, and watermelon was the worst! I almost went into anapheleptic shock (I butchered that word, I'm sorry :P). So, what was it? I tried going for organic. Right? No pesticides! Yeah, WRONG. The same redness and swelling. Frustrated, I decided it was me. I was weak and I had some problems with my health. I did go lactose intolerant near that time as well, so it would make sense. However, I spoke to a few people here and there and they told me that they had also developped a redding swell when eating grocery-store fruits, (I bought mine at Provigo). Now, it's gone, but I can't help but think that there might have been someting in the fruits, coming from God-knows where in the world. Considering pictures like this:

Blog #66 --Because Nom: Cucumber, Tomato, Avocado Sandwiches--

Okay, I just made myself the most delicious thing evar, like from scratch. Okay, it's not quite a sandwich because I didn't close my bread but it's more like a topping, but it's delicious!!!

Healthy Avocado, Tomato, Cucumber Topping Thing

Tomato cubes
Cucumber cubes
Avocado pieces
Minced onion (not a lot)
Sour cream (if you want, I mean, it's not vegan there) :P
Black olives (if you like that)
Greek spices (if you have some)
Bread

Blend all that together and lather on your favourite bread. It's soooo good!! And healthy!! :)

So, I went to an awesome goth night in Sherbrooke, where the people there dance like nobody's looking (I said they danced like monsters :P) played pool, and won some awesome prizes! It was very amazing, if you ever have the chance to go to Le Saloon in Sherbrooke, not Le Magog, it's really great! You can wear cool eye make-up, like black and the music is amazing (unlike music in other clubs, ugh) and you can have a great time!

Also, do political leaders on internet get assassinated? I was watching the zapruder film and I was like O_O you see his brain pop out of his head! And then I was like, what if someone hates my political views and I get killed. Don't wanna! I avoid putting my name on the internet though, because it's not anyone's business to attempt to find me. Yep, so that's it there, not much to say today. Tired, wanna sleep -_-

Character of the Day:
Elmo

Appearances: Santa Forgives, Pillow Talk, Needle and Chain.
Bio: Fitting character for today: Elmo is a Z-Person whose chain wasn't quite well made and there was a failure and now he's basically narcoleptic, or just always sleepy/sleeping. Elmo is Seraphine's love-interest, though they are only really romantic buddies, since they're dead. Elmo doesn't do much all day apart from sleep, but since he sleeps to much, he does dream and he awakens and writes down certain things that he dreams. The more he dreams, the more he taps into his strange world, which ends up being Pentle, the Locked World, and he, without knowing, has an otherworldly connection to it. His writings are found and are treasured, memorized and passed down through the generations, telling the stories of the world in which Vampires originate from.

Blog#64--Sexuality Today: Virginity, Masterbands and Sexual Stigma--

If you are sensitive to sexual talk, I recommend you brace yourself.

Have your heard of the term: Purity Ball? In America, there is this movement (and it started in Colorado Springs) where youth (especially young girls) are promising to keep their virginity until they find their true love. Think that's normal? Listen to this. They promise this with their fathers. Yes, young women 'give' their virginities to their father, who then has the right to give it to their daughter's future husband on the wedding day. What a scam!
This is a total patriarchal manipulation of a young girl's sexual life! They make a vow with their fathers and if they break it, shame comes upon them! But even there, would YOU go to a chastity ball a sexuality-oriented ball with your own father? I mean, unless you're into that, okay, but it's weird. It's weird on multiple levels. The ball is very romantic as well, with dancing and holding hands and it's not supposed to be that way.

Oh and that's not all. Believe it or not, some States have reformed their school sex ed program to tell people that condoms don't work and that the ONLY way you're not going to get pregnant or have STI's is by abstaining completely from sex. Well, guess what? Purity vows and balls are not going to stop a raging hormonal woman or man to have sex. Sex (any sort of it) is a natural part of life and just the idea of virginity is completley made-up. As made up as Red Riding Hood. You don't have a 'virginity'. Physically, a girl's hymen okay yeah, but no. Girls lose their hymen playing rough sports, running, and horseback riding. Did they have sex? No. Where's the boy's virginity? It's not a thing. The only thing that's actually there is the first experience, which is SO romanticized in the media. Dude, if this is the first time you've had a sexual experience (and you're like 16 or 17 male or female) wow, okay... good for you... but I think the majority of the population (especially boys) already know what sexual pleasure feels like, or is.

Speaking of which, you will lol at the word: Masterband. Yes, Masterband. This is a boy's chastity vow from abstaining from auto-eroticism, by wearing this black rubber band around the hand he so would perfer to do it with. If the band is removed, his friends would then know NOT to shake his hand that morning. It is HUMILIATING that's what it is! Many boys LOVE to talk about sex, and they all do it even though they will not go into detail. But to have the band removed is super shameful, and to keep it on, well that's just torture, isn't it boys? ;)

Boys, girls. Look at yourselves. You have sexual parts and they're right THERE! It's not hidden, and it's made to be used. If you want to use them, be sure to be safe about it and that it's with someone who also wants to engage in a sexual activity with you. Or with yourself, which is totally NORMAL. Religion humiliates sexuality and sexualizes instead girls (with make-up and fake breasts) while boys do NOTHING to change their appearance and that's all right? Rise up and realize that you live in a patriarchal society still ruled by men who earn more money than a woman doing the SAME JOB. Sigh... this is a lot to stomach, but America, put an end to this ridiculous school sex ed program! They're putting 55 million dollars into that each year! Ridiculous! It doesn't work! When girls break their vows after that, she probably did it on impulse and has as much risk of having an STI (probs of not getting pregnant though) than any other unsafe sexually active teen (adolescent child) or adult.

Blog#63--Because Nom: Healthiest Banana-Carrot Bread--

So I tried making a healthy recipe. I'm in the process of making it now, and I'll post the blog as soon as it's finished. So it's a banana-carrot bread. I will NOT put any sugar, no aspartame, no substitute like that. I will sweeten with a bit of brown sugar, honey and the fructose that's in the carrots and banana. Also, chocolate chips, because nom. So this is what it is:

Preheat oven to 350F

in a bowl:
1 cup of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1 and a half tsp of baking soda
1/4 cup of cocoa powder (because nom)
pinch of salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon

in other bowl:
1 egg
1 tsp of vanilla
3 bananas (pureed) its better if they're like brownish black or from your freezer
one carrot (good size there) grated
some honey like a large squirt from the bottle or like 2 tbps (I approximated)
3-4 tbps of brown sugar
a little bit of canola oil (like just to make it glisten, because we need the fat)

Mix all together after mixed seperately, then add:
a bit of chocolate chips
nuts (not peanuts, but like... hazelnuts or macademia)

Bake for 45-60 mins, checking it because it really depends on the oven. As said above, this is at 350F, must be preheated. Enjoy!!! It was good! I made it and it's really yummy!!
Feel free to sweeten any recipe with sweetened or unsweetened apple sauce, or even mashed pineapple. Fruits are sooo sweet and and perfect for sugar replacement. If you do put these, you can even cut on the oil.

Character of the Day:
Thaddeus Viola-Penza

Appearances: Nothing yet, borne circa 3550.
Bio: Thaddeus is the first son of Brutus and Elia, who ends up being Née Vampire. Thaddeus grows up extremely slowly, being a Vampire since his birth, but pushing out the growth of his body nonetheless. Thaddeus is a writer, a poet, playright and he is interested in the forbidden. He seeks knowledge of other worlds and speaks to all who have been to the Udacorra to write epic poetry for the populace. He researches books from the old world and starts to replace Drummond Marble's job of keeping track of history. Thaddeus writes numerous encyclopaedias, dictionaries for Daemonic and New English, and learns topography and re-works the map of the world. Thaddeus has a wonderful connection with his (great)-great-grand Mother, Finna, who tells him everything she knows, because she is the only one who still remembers the Norse time (apart from Prince, who is not very talkative these days).

Blog #62 --Society 101: Consumerism--

So what is consumerism? It is a social and economic order that encourages the purchase of goods and services in excess amounts. For example:

Today's appliances are made to break. It's true. People avoid thinking it and they still spend and spend each year on new appliances because the last one is truly finished. The companies admitted it too, it's not a myth. They make things so that they break. This is a huge problem in our society because of all the waste this used cheap metal alloy, and plastic is making. Let me tell you something: you're moving out, go to a bunch of old appliance stores or flea markets and find yourself an old toaster from the 70's. It doesn't work anymore? That's fine! It's probably just a wire. Bring it to a small appliance mecanic and they'll fix it up in no time! (Unless there's a 30year old part missing, then that sux). But seriously, NEVER invest in something cheaply made, you're only sinking your feet deeper into the system, into a government that is based on making huge amounts of profit for the benefit for a single few individuals.

At one point, we have to stop and think: What is a human made for? What are we really capable of? Well the answer might be scary for some: we are limitless. Not in life, but in production, in capability and it's time to stand up and realize our full potential. Do you really need a car? Do you really need a cellphone? Did you know that in Quebec, 18% of people in my age group DO NOT have a cell phone?

Cellphones, ah... what a clever device. Perhaps yes, for the modern extrovert, who is very much into social communication, meeting new people, conversing... wait... something's wrong. Indeed, the extroverts of twenty years ago, who used to meet everywhere to share everything, are now the introverts who do not rely on technology to satisfy each and every one of their giddy, urgent needs. The sound of a vibrating text has become an alarm to the people of my age group (18-25) as powerful as a baby's cry to a mother. We rush to the object in order to satisfy it, calm it, as it calms us in return, a play on power that is controlled by the people who are pulling hundreds out of your pockets every year. We've entered a world of mass spending and we don't even realize it.

This is a trailer to Michael Moore's: Capitalism: A love story (ha ha) not! It's very interesting what people do while they are in the system in order to make everyone else's lives miserable. You tend to hate the (American) government after you watch this. I'm lucky not to live in this, but unfortunately, I live with Pauline Marois... Why did you have to die, Jack? We all loveddd youuuuu!!!! :( R.I.P. Jack Layton.

Character of the Day:
Maurice Chavanon aka Chief

Appearances: Maurice, Santa Forgives, Shambles, Pillow Talk, Needle and Chain, Ashenlust, Faceless, Needle and Thread.
Bio: Chief is the perfect example of someone who never follows the rules and does things to gratify his being. He and other great Vampires and Werewolves got together and created the Jericho Republic. He set a code of Werewolves for all members of the burocracy and then he went off and did whatever he wanted, breaking his own rules here and there. He understands that there needs to be control and concerning Vampires and supernatural beings, it has to be more autocratic than anything else. Chief is one of personal favourites. He learns German just to help save numerous (mostly children) from going to concentration camps during WWII. He's just great!!

Blog #60 --Because Nom: Pesto Recipe--

You love pesto, but don't want to spend money at the restaurant. Have no fear, making your own delicious and healthy pesto is really easy! This is what you'll need:

Yummy, Easy, Healthy Pesto Recipe

Basil
Garlic
Olive oil
Parsley

Mix together a bit of oil (enough for the pasta dish you're making) a minced clove of garlic and then add lots and lots of basil (minced fresh leaves or dehydrated) and some parsley.

That's it!! Woa!! Enjoy!!

So I've started a new novella. It's going to be short and not very sweet, but yeah, a bit sweet. It has no name right now, but it's been a real intense experience. It's probably the most violent thing I've ever written and even though it goes against my morals, it's pure art from the soul and I think it's what people today crave for. Apocalypse... Zombies... yeah, you like that eh? Found myself writing that a lot too :P jk jk, here's my new character. He is MELLLTING!!! Love him <3

Character of the Day
Noah

Appearances: We Were Three (it's called that right now) :3
Bio: Trained as a welder in California, Noah knew an easy life surrounded by the people he loved. And then the war striked USA as well as failure over failure and attempting to solve growing bio-problems. Noah blacks out after the death of his beloved, and ends up after the evacuations, alone and trying to find other people. He finds Lincoln and Cooper, and they venture forth as a quiet trio Northward. Canada is promising and so they drive every tanked car and fill it up until it's empty and then continue. However, after weeks of travel and little entertainment, Cooper gets brilliant and starts to torment a few Strays (animalistic people who have reverted to stealing to get by) and Link and Noah catch on. Noah faces a conflicting role as leader of a growing violent trio, as he struggles to lose or find himself as he mercilessly satisfied each and every one of his desires and the desires of his twisted friends. Head shaved and wearing creepy bandannas with fangs over his face, Noah makes himself look as menacing as possible in hopes that they are feared enough not to be bothered on their treck through the 'Metropolis' as he calls them to find ammo, band-aids, smokes, alcohol and Beefaroni.

Blog #59--Gothic Horror: How to Write a Gothic Novel--

Ok, I took a Gothic Literature course back when I was an English Major and it was an amazing course! Dr. Grogan at Bishop's is amazing! She used to have this innocent smile on her face as she described in her English accent: 'guts floying everwhaire'. But the Gothic novel is a bit different than horror, or then thriller, it's very calm. The Gothic comes and gets you by being really on-your-tip-toes kind of creepy. First off! Let's talk themes:

Incest: A big theme in the Gothic, very disturbing, very hidden. Certain novellas like The Castle of Otranto have incest themes to describe the falling into oblivion of a whole bloodline (since it is tainted). This trope is very fun to use if you want to kill off numerous characters. Incest also leads to insanity for some, and deformity, has the incest been consummated. A Sicilian Romance has a strong incestuous presence in the main character and her brother, but it doesn't become anything.

Supernatural patentas: Ghosts, Vampires, Ghouls, even Zombies are very freaky, but they have to either be very 'undertone' as I call it, or out in the open, like a Vampire Lord, like Dracula for example. He is refined in his choice of blood of the vein. Ghosts can come in to freak out the main character and then maybe point them in the right direction.

Blog#55--Cowboy: Chapter Three--

Three

“You ready to eat some good old stew?” asked a shadowy figure. The morning’s rays were only peeking out of the earth, and the vast plains stretched forever yonder in front of them. The town would soon come into view and they would reach their destination.
It was starting to get warmer, but until the sun’s full glow, there would be secure coolness. They were riding slowly, as both did not want the water tank to burst or spill from the buggy, despite their trustful knowledge of it being sturdy enough.
“I am,” responded an voice older than the first. It was a tenor voice, soft and playful. He smiled almost every moment of the day, and religiously wore his fallow straw cowboy’s hat. He had a plaid red and white shirt and regular tan pants. His boots were patterned and he wore a blue and white scarf around his neck, high near his cheeks that covered a small amount of stubble he usually wore. His eyes were sometimes blue, sometimes green, sometimes grey. It depended on his clothes, on the weather, and his mood. They neared a hoary moss shade when his mind was at peace, as it was now.
“You listen to the old bray of your heart do you now?” the young man asked, grinning and leaning back in the shaded buggy. His hat was black and he wore a pale shirt. His hair was as brown as his friend’s, but his eyes were deep brown, almost heterochromically orange.
“I wish it would be easier,” he responded. “You know that. You know what you’ll have to do.”

Blog#54--Cowboy: Chapter Two--

Two

The horizon was fading, and a sandstorm brewed in the distance. Davendy Springs would avoid this storm, one of dryness and death. And yet, in the midst of the blinding wind, there was hope. The sunset brought in the orange glow of comforting warmth to the souls of the people and none lost complete hope, because there was a feeling in the air. None yet had panicked even though not everything was under control. They had had droughts before; it was the unfortunate likelihood of these parts.
Mariette awoke and she found her head maintaining a mild headache. She winced and noticed the darkening sky. It was wonderful, as she knew that it would get very cool during the night. She put her dress back on, but did not put her corset and went down to see if she had any later appointments. Her father usually jotted them down if she would go up and sleep. It was difficult to sleep at times, and it was a challenge to die of heat in the day and bundle up because of the night’s almost wintry cold.
No appointments were noted and so she went to the kitchen and found Hamsfield eating some cooked ham pieces and next to him was a small glass of water. She looked at it and her throat burned with dry heat.
“Could I have a small glass?”
“Of course, you can have a large glass actually, since I heard news of the tank arriving in two days.”
“Are you sure?” she asked as she went to the cooler and got out the jug of water. Small bubbles had formed the inside of the jug on the edge of the water, but it was still fresh enough not to get sick from drinking it. “I heard at the Sherriff’s office that it wouldn’t be coming.”
“I got the news privately, Marie, from a friend of mine. He says he’s sending the best cowboy in the country to deliver it. He’s loyal, and supposedly very handsome.”
“Yes?” She wanted to sound interested. Was she? Did she want to see this man? Would he come and go anyways? Surely the town didn’t want to lose their best cowboy.
“Will he be staying?”
