The next few updates will be of my personal novella 'Cowboy' about a young woman working for her doctor father in the desert plains of the Wild West. Mariette and her sister Lucibelle are struggling like the rest of the village because of a soon-to-be water drought. Luckily, a cowboy is coming in with a large water tank and they will not all die. While he arrives, rumours are started about his charms and she longs to meet him and ignores the other men in the village who would be interested in having a romantic relationship with her. Mariette starts feeling alienated and much different from everyone else, and with that comes some paranoia about her own father concerning her deceased mother and the whiplash it could have caused him emotionally. When the Cowboy arrives (and not alone), their worlds collide, and she learns a whole new facade of her life and the world she lives in.
I'll be posting one chapter a day in a different blog post. This one is not the first. There will not be a character of the day. Don't worry, they'll come back (if you even read them, lol jk jk I know you don't.) I really hope you enjoy your read, I really like this book, but I'm biased. Character of the Day:
Hedrick Palouse
Appearances: Pillow Talk, Needle and Chain, Ashenlust, Santa Forgives.
Bio: Hedrick is part of Chief's pack, a youthful, handsome Werewolf who takes life very lightly. He rampaged very violently as a fledgling and got himself stuck at St. Matt's for a while, but doesn't mind it there. His hedonistic way of life makes him enjoy living off of the the breast of Penetentiary. Hedrick's romantic and sexual interest is Calica, who is too strange for him to keep up. He wishes he was more popular with the girls, but secretely really only loves Calica, but doesn't want to admit that she's his Bride. Hedrick was an alcoholic as a human and it's what caused him to have a mortal accident (by jumping off a bridge awning into the street). *shakes head* He was saved by an unknown Werewolf, but he has visions of a blurry female. Hedrick now has a collection of alcohol in his room and because of his 500% tolerance, he can only heavy binge drink to get slightly tipsy and that would cost a fortune, but he likes to host parties and get the humans to drink his now famous mixed drinks.
