If you are sensitive to sexual talk, I recommend you brace yourself.
Have your heard of the term: Purity Ball? In America, there is this movement (and it started in Colorado Springs) where youth (especially young girls) are promising to keep their virginity until they find their true love. Think that's normal? Listen to this. They promise this with their fathers. Yes, young women 'give' their virginities to their father, who then has the right to give it to their daughter's future husband on the wedding day. What a scam!
This is a total patriarchal manipulation of a young girl's sexual life! They make a vow with their fathers and if they break it, shame comes upon them! But even there, would YOU go to a chastity ball a sexuality-oriented ball with your own father? I mean, unless you're into that, okay, but it's weird. It's weird on multiple levels. The ball is very romantic as well, with dancing and holding hands and it's not supposed to be that way.
Oh and that's not all. Believe it or not, some States have reformed their school sex ed program to tell people that condoms don't work and that the ONLY way you're not going to get pregnant or have STI's is by abstaining completely from sex. Well, guess what? Purity vows and balls are not going to stop a raging hormonal woman or man to have sex. Sex (any sort of it) is a natural part of life and just the idea of virginity is completley made-up. As made up as Red Riding Hood. You don't have a 'virginity'. Physically, a girl's hymen okay yeah, but no. Girls lose their hymen playing rough sports, running, and horseback riding. Did they have sex? No. Where's the boy's virginity? It's not a thing. The only thing that's actually there is the first experience, which is SO romanticized in the media. Dude, if this is the first time you've had a sexual experience (and you're like 16 or 17 male or female) wow, okay... good for you... but I think the majority of the population (especially boys) already know what sexual pleasure feels like, or is.
Speaking of which, you will lol at the word: Masterband. Yes, Masterband. This is a boy's chastity vow from abstaining from auto-eroticism, by wearing this black rubber band around the hand he so would perfer to do it with. If the band is removed, his friends would then know NOT to shake his hand that morning. It is HUMILIATING that's what it is! Many boys LOVE to talk about sex, and they all do it even though they will not go into detail. But to have the band removed is super shameful, and to keep it on, well that's just torture, isn't it boys? ;)
Boys, girls. Look at yourselves. You have sexual parts and they're right THERE! It's not hidden, and it's made to be used. If you want to use them, be sure to be safe about it and that it's with someone who also wants to engage in a sexual activity with you. Or with yourself, which is totally NORMAL. Religion humiliates sexuality and sexualizes instead girls (with make-up and fake breasts) while boys do NOTHING to change their appearance and that's all right? Rise up and realize that you live in a patriarchal society still ruled by men who earn more money than a woman doing the SAME JOB. Sigh... this is a lot to stomach, but America, put an end to this ridiculous school sex ed program! They're putting 55 million dollars into that each year! Ridiculous! It doesn't work! When girls break their vows after that, she probably did it on impulse and has as much risk of having an STI (probs of not getting pregnant though) than any other unsafe sexually active teen (adolescent child) or adult.
I say adolescent child because many girls have sex before they've started menstruating at the age of 12-14 or more depending. Technically, girls are not teens until then, before then, they are an adolescent child. With HORMONES that we insert into our meats and dairy (especially America that still has Posilac) some girls have started menstruating very young, like 9 years old, which is a lot to take for really, a child. You're supposed to play and jump and run around without worrying about that. It's almost disgusting.
Also, on the subject of getting pregnant. A woman only 'ovulates' which means 'becomes fertile' for like 24-48 hours in a month. Unless you are a rabbit and have sex a lot and each day, you have little risk of being pregnant. Of course, the ratio, percentage, is still there and there are 'accidents' that are 'uncalled' for. But often if a 'rape victim' has become pregnant, that's really unlucky, because you don't get pregnant that easily. To make it clear, you ovulate on the 13-14th day of your menstrual cycle, this start WITH your period. So, first day, count +14, that's your fertility spot. :) You're welcome!
Oral, or vaginal contraception can be sooooooo bad for you. Many oral 'pills' have hormones in them and you do not need and may make your breasts bigger, but for a cost. Later in life, you will have unremovable cists that will form inside of your breasts and carry around like hard masses in your sagging jugs because you were smart and decided to breastfeed your child. No, your breasts don't shrink if you get off the pill. UI I think they're called devices are VERY DANGEROUS and SHOULD NOT be used because they might make you sterile. True story, it happened to a woman very close to me. What I have to say about this is:
USE CONDOMS
They're 99% fullproof, and unless you're doing the italian chandelier for an hour, it won't break. If it does, check your cycle, don't risk taking 'the morning after pill' and shooting your system with hormones. I'm serious, this is what causes disease and cancer in women. Overuse of drugs.
I can also say, you can TIME yourself in your cycle and if you know your partner is clean (and so are you obv) then you can have amazing unprotected sex when you know you won't get pregnant. It's okay to have sex if you're bleeding too, well unless you're like a volcano or something that day, ask your man. Tell him it's not dangerous (unless you have a blood problem) and for SURE you won't get pregnant then. Remember however, sperm can live within you for around 3-4 days but don't worry too much about it. I mean, do, I mean, it's important though. Just, have fun, be sexual (if you want to) and don't be afraid of it! :)
Character of the Day:
Wade Carmel
Appearances: Pace
Bio: Wade is a very kind man who ends up representing 'love'. In a sense, Wade cannot be mad at anyone and he cares for all. His pace is water dropping, yes, the rain drives him through the walls and up and down the walls. Hence, he carries around a semi-automatic. :P Wade is from Wint-Elle and with their Renaissance Russian period of time, when he goes to Contemporary Sum-Elle and sees girls in their shorts, they're practically naked. Wade is youthful, in his thirties and always looking for interesting knowledge and adventure. I do realize his name sounds like 'wade through caramel' or something :P

ReplyDeleteThank you and I hope so as well!!
ReplyDeleteThe information you give about condoms is incorrect.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), National Institute for Health (NIH), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) condoms when used 'consistently and effectively' are only 85% effective in preventing HIV and 86% effective in preventing pregnancy. Additionally, they offer little to no protection against skin to skin STDs such as Herpes and HPV. I'm not commenting on the rest of your blog. I'm just saying your facts are incorrect. I included citations below (all from peer reviewed studies).
"Condoms were found to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDs transmission during vaginal sex by 85% when used consistently (every time a person has sex, without exception) and "correctly" (following a specific 6 step procedure)."
http://www.niaid.nih.gov/about/organization/dmid/documents/condomreport.pdf
Typical use of condoms carries a 14% failure rate for pregnancy alone.
http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/ode/contrlab.html
Offer little to no protection against skin to skin diseases.

Two of the links you left are dead, and the paper you linked to is over 12 years old. Furthermore, in the methodology section they admit to having a less than ideal sample size, as well as having other issues that may have contributed to potential inaccuracies.
DeleteThank you for your correction, however I didn't say they were 99% against pregnancy and transmission of HIV/AIDS. I said they were 'fullproof' which means they don't break. And they don't, unless you are having really rough sex. If they do you're using bad condoms. However, as mentionned above, a girl or woman only ovulates for 24-48 hours (around) per month, so the chanced are really low. Also, I wouldn't have sex with or without condom with someone who is infected with an STI and especially not if they have AIDS. It's your partner, well, sorry, maybe you should look somewhere else if you are concernned about your sexual health. And where are these stats coming from? Testimonials? People lie, all the time, and we can't know for sure if there really is a 14% failure rate for pregnancy alone. And if I remember, the percentage I looked at when I was at school was in the low 90's and with spermicide high nineties, but like I say, if you are both clean you and your partner, you're not going to get pregnant unless you are not aware of your body as a woman, which you should be. I wasn't going to disclose personal information, but what do I care anymore? I don't use contraceptive devices because I don't believe in them and I think they are harmful to the human body except for condoms (when I'm in ovulation) and I've been working with that for two years (I'm 20 btw) and I haven't become pregnant yet.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was ranting and I just shot out a number in the dark. My point was my political standings on the subjects and I wanted to educate people about purity balls and about the falsity that condoms are not reliable. They are.
ReplyDeleteYou are wrong about the 24-48 hours per cycle of fertility.
ReplyDeleteSperm can live inside a woman for 5-7 days before ovulation. Then the egg is viable for some period after ovulation. So, in general, if you had perfect knowledge (which most people don't) of when you ovulate, especially when it has not yet happened in the cycle, you should allow for a 10-day period or even longer if irregular, to take into account the pre-ovulatory sperm lifespan, and the egg viability post-ovulation.
Most women and girls do not know in advance when they will ovulate, which is why they shouldn't have unprotected sex if they don't want to get pregnant. Saying the odds are so low is just crazy.
The odds are low. I am not wrong about the 24-48 hours. You are simply pointing out the idea that sperm can live longer. If you would have rephrased your argument to actually make sense, I might have taken it seriously. Honestly, I think I do have great knowledge of this and I use this myself, and have been for many years. It works. The only reason you think it doesn't is because most women are uneducated and will never be. Therefore, for the lesser educated women, we have condoms and drugs. I'm just saying. This post ANYWAY is telling people to be safe during sex, but to also be SMART. I don't like fucking rubber. Maybe you do. I don't like altering my natural body with drugs. Maybe you do. But there are some people out there who want to make love to their partners without worry. I'm comforting those people. Also, 'perfect knowledge' is bullshit.
